The Appointment

The words roll out. The fear is all you taste
Hope is a peach. The yellow skin and flesh
Squeeze from his fist ’till all that’s left
Is pulp and seed swept off into a bin marked human waste.

The blue light of a moon stares blindly at you from behind his head
Do not blame the moon. It does not know that you are dead.
